We have a void moon today until around 5 pm EST when La Luna Enters Leo! How gorgeous for the Moon to be ingressing into the Sun's sign on the day of the Winter Solstice! Not only that, but we've had 3 M Class solar flares in the past 24 hours as if the Sun is actually waking up. After so many years of watching the Sun, it never ceases to amaze me how solar activity marks important celestial events. Every time. It's super magical.
The Sun will also be changing signs today as he joins Mercury, Juno, Pluto, and Venus Retrograde in dignified Capricorn.
This is Odin's night, the night of the Wild Hunt, Asgaardreien, when he sports his long, white beard, mounts his 8 legged steed, and rides through the night sky. Sound familiar?
Sometimes accompanied by the Valkyrie, elves, trolls, Thor, and wild horses and hunting dogs, their hunting party gather the souls of the fallen. It was a night our ancestors would stay inside for fear of getting snatched up by the hunters by mistake!
The Yule log, candles and lanterns lit in order to add their light to the Sun's return. It's these acts of connection to the natural cycles that we must return to. There's a call to return to the old ways that honor reciprocity. May the call of the Wild Hunt's horns lead us there and may the vestiges of what's old and dead in our minds and hearts be gladly gathered and honored properly by the hunters in the sky. May it be so! xx
