Neptune in Aries
When one of our outer planets ingresses into a new sign, it’s a pretty big deal. That’s because they represent more of our collective journey as a people and community. Of course we experience the energy shift individually also, but there is always a notable collective shift in consciousness, focus, and direction of will as events that change and direct our future come about.
Neptune as a teacher, represents consciousness itself. He connects us with our higher ideals, our dreams, our sensitivity, and the mysteries of God, the soul, and the unseen aspects of life. Neptune encourages us to identify our ego-self, not to control it or reign it in (it has a purpose), but so we can learn to step it aside in order to connect with self-observation beyond its influence.
Neptune rules the places where logic and linear-ness cannot gain a foothold. It’s a dreamy realm full of magic, creation, universal love, as well as smoke, mirrors, and self-delusion. Without the skill of ego-identification as mentioned, we can lose ourselves in this world of uncertainty if we are trying to find solid and sensible direction. Neptune requires that we don’t necessarily believe what we see or what we think at face value. We must learn to navigate in the fog without losing our way or our very selves.
Neptune dissolves or spiritualizes. It’s one or the other.
Aries is our Cardinal Fire sign. It is the first breath of life, the ring of fire of creation, the very spark of the soul. In this way, Neptune and Aries are already connected. Neptune holds the unseen places where things are not quite formed, Aries adds the spark required to make something “real.” But it is, in design, only a spark. What that spark ignites depends on what it is fed or IF it is fed.
Aries asks us to have courage and seeks ways to prove itself (to itself).
This is absolutely the energy of spiritual warriorship in its highest form. Consciousness in action.
We may find that dreams we have long held inside will finally gain some momentum.
We may find that we care more about others and are more willing to put some “skin” in the game.
We may act more clearly guided by our spiritual principles.
Neptune in Aries says, “Act on your highest ideals. Find the courage to feed the spark.”
Some cautionary tales?
Let’s be conscious to not feed our escapism or our hiding. Let’s resist the temptation to let life become a dream and we are merely a ghost wandering around aimlessly.
Let’s not get all riled up for some delusional group-think or fanaticism. Truth is slippery – remember we can’t trust what we see and hear at face value. Our energy could easily get diverted into some futile nonsense. It will take awareness and discipline to know the difference!
As our world changes around us, it reflects our changing inner worlds and the consciousness of our people. Let’s find the courage to care enough to feed the spark of compassion and be warriors of love in this world that needs every open heart to feel that spark.
